Communication
Effective team leader communicates properly and efficiently. Verbal and
written communication skills are necessary to deliver the right message to the
team members. Even though you are the team leader and you make the decisions,
you should still try to listen to your team members. Understand their
suggestion, listen to their ideas and see if you all can work on them. Also,
encourage suggestion from them. A good team leader is not only a good speaker
but a good listener as well. Communication is a two-way process, and every
leader needs to know this.
Confidence
A quality team leader should be confident in his abilities and the team's
abilities. A confident leader should trust the team's decision because if you
fail to trust yourself or the team then you can never succeed. A confident
leader also reassures its team about every risky decision made and also knows
what to speak.
Delegation
A good team leader knows how to share work with the team through
delegation. Delegating tasks to the team's member you trust will reduce your
workload and also build an understanding between you and your employee. An
employee feels more secure when the leader delegates him the job. Although the
leaders don't have to hand off work to others, however, to establish yourself
as a good team leader, you must know when to delegate a certain task to
employees. Make it clear so that everyone knows what to do and trust your team,
and lead the way.
Respect
An effective team leader respects his employees. A respectful leader always
encourages his employees about ideas and decisions that affect the company. The
leader should never look down at an employee or his ideas because once you
start respecting your team, the team will respect you even more and adore you
as the leader.
Influential
Influential leaders inspire the team and drive them to achieve the company
goals efficiently. An influential leader also sets certain goals for their team
to meet. He should also manage the team properly and gain the confidence at his
workplace through fast and tricky decisions. Also, take risks that are supposed
to benefit the company, don't risk your company for something that isn't worth
it, because if you lose then your team will lose as well.
