Effective team leader communicates properly and efficiently. Verbal and written communication skills are necessary to deliver the right message to the team members. Even though you are the team leader and you make the decisions, you should still try to listen to your team members. Understand their suggestion, listen to their ideas and see if you all can work on them. Also, encourage suggestion from them. A good team leader is not only a good speaker but a good listener as well. Communication is a two-way process, and every leader needs to know this.

A quality team leader should be confident in his abilities and the team's abilities. Influential leaders inspire the team and drive them to achieve the company goals efficiently. An influential leader also sets certain goals for their team to meet. He should also manage the team properly and gain the confidence at his workplace through fast and tricky decisions. Also, take risks that are supposed to benefit the company, don't risk your company for something that isn't worth it, because if you lose then your team will lose as well.
